Kenya Youth Employment and Opportunities Project (KYEOP) is a transformational project that aims to empower and uplift the well being of the youth in Kenya by equipping them with essential training, internship, and business grant opportunities.
How we do it
Training and Internship
Get trained in one of our trade areas, do an internship in a company or an apprenticeship with a Master Craftsman
Create your own business! Get support for your business with a 40,000 business grant or coaching on running a business
Receive a grant of either Ksh. 900,000 or 3.6 million if your business idea has the potential of creating jobs.
Future Bora Initiative
Supporting transformational organizations that expand economic opportunities for vulnerable and hard-to-serve youth.
KYEOP Eligibility Criteria:
- Youth aged between 18-29
- Education level of up to form four or below
- Kenyan citizen
- Currently unemployed/underemployed
- Not currently enrolled in school or planning to join in the next 8 months
KYEOP Implementing Partners:
- The Ministry of ICT, Innovation and Youth Affairs (MIIYA)
- The National Industrial Training Authority (NITA),
- Micro and Small Enterprise Authority (MSEA)
- The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection
Impact of the Project
33,167 Youth have benefited from Training and Internship
64% Of Youth who completed Job Specific Skills Training & Internship have been employed
32,186 Youth Received Business Support, with 26,922 receiving a 40,000Ksh grant and 5,264 receiving coaching to manage a business
87% Of youth who received business grants have created employment for themselves and others
5% Participation in the Project is reserved for Persons with Disability.

Business support Applications invited for the following counties: Nairobi, Mombasa, Kwale, Kisumu, Nakuru, Migori, Kiambu, Kitui, Turkana, Nyandarua, Kakamega, Kilifi, Mandera, Bungoma, Machakos, Kisii and Wajir.
Training and Internship Applications invited for the following counties: Bungoma, Kakamega, Kisii, Nyandarua, Kilifi, Kisumu and Kwale.
KYEOP encourages youth from Vulnerable and Marginalized Communities and single youth mothers to apply.
