Terms of Service: Pensionable
Salary Scale: Ksh. 21,550 – 28,970 p.m.
House Allowance: Depending on duty station
Commuter Allowance: Ksh. 3,000 p.m
Leave Entitlement: 30 days per financial year
Medical Benefits: As existing in the Civil Service

(a) Duties and Responsibilities

This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer. Duties and responsibilities will entail:-

i. Ensuring safe custody of exhibits;
ii. Providing security during MCS patrol activities;
iii. Arresting and ensuring safe custody of suspects;
iv. Offering security to officers on patrol activities; and
v. Providing general sentry services; and
vi. Providing security for the fisheries MCS command centre.

(b) Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:-

i. A minimum of Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade D plain or its approved equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
ii. Undergone or is ready to undergo a disciplined forces induction course lasting not less than six (6) months;
iii. be a Kenyan citizen;
iv. be physically and medically fit;
v. be between the age 18 and 28 years;
vi. be in possession of a National Identity Card;
vii. Certificate in computer application skills; and
viii. Valid certificate of good conduct from the National Police Service
