Section 14 of the Advocates Act allows the Office of the Attorney General and Department of Justice (OAG & DOJ) to take on pupils for purposes of the Advocate training Programme as offered by the Kenya School of Law.
In order to enrich the training experience and ensure that those who undergo pupillage at the OAG & DOJ acquire diverse experience and exposure to a variety of skills and legal resources thereby enhancing their marketability, this Office seeks to engage fifty (50) graduates on a short term contract period of six (6) months renewable once.
i. Be a graduate who has immediately completed their pupillage programme 2020 at the OAG & DOJ in line with the Advocate Training Programme
ii. Recommendation Letter from the Technical Coordinator confirming satisfactory completion of Pupillage Programme 2020 at OAG & DOJ
Stipend and allowances
A beneficiary/pupil under this programme shall be paid a stipend as stipulated by Public Service Commission from time to time and an additional allowance equivalent to Special Legal Allowance payable to State Counsel at entry level of CSG 9.
NB: Successful candidates will be deployed to any of the regional offices namely: Nakuru, Kisii, Mombasa, Kisumu, Embu, Kakamega, Nyeri, Malindi, Eldoret, Garissa, Meru, and Machakos.
